THIS week we are checking in with Andrew, one of our pawesome Mammal Keepers, to see how our lovely mammals are getting on!

First up – one of the newest kids on the block, our Red Panda cub, is causing all sort of chaos for Mum – exploring outside of the nest box, climbing through the trees and generally getting up to all sorts of mischief.

Anteaters, as it says on the tin, eat Ants, up to 30,000 each and every day.

Now, Joao enjoys a specialised diet called Insectivore which is essentially, ants and other nutritious insects to replicate the diet he would have access to in the wilds of South America.

But still, we know that eating the same thing over and over again gets quite boring so while we can’t vary his diet, we can vary his feeding methods – so we recently treated Joao to a new feeder box which makes him think about how to get to his tasty treats.

Over at Raccoon residence, Lady Mia who joined us earlier this year has settled in really well and is busy racing around her enclosure – this super-social cutie will very soon be ready to welcome her visitors on our Raccoon Encounter, and we know we have plenty of people keen and eager to meet her.

Another new arrival over at Maned Wolves, things are going great with Chewie, who joined resident Maned Wolf Danna here earlier this year from Wingham Wildlife Park.

These two really are stuck together like glue and can often be seen getting their flirt on.

We all have our fingers crossed for the pitter patter of precious puppy paws in the not so distant future.
