BARROW AFC boss Mark Cooper has highlighted they are focusing on each game as it comes at the moment ahead of Saturday's away clash against Port Vale.

Having put together an unbeaten run of four games in the league, the Bluebirds will look to capitalise on a side that have come off a loss in their last game out.

Vale conceded an agonising injury-time goal against Sutton United last Saturday but remain 4th in the table.

AFC – currently in 11th - drew their last game in the league to Leyton Orient, but the performances have been enough to give boss Mark Cooper something to smile about.

"When you look at our last performance, if you can't win don't lose, so we kept our unbeaten run in the league going," he said.

"We just want to keep picking points up and keep our performance levels high.

"They are a good team, one of the best in the league, so we have to know that and respect that. They have a good manager that knows what he is doing.

"We just have to do what we do, play the ball to our strengths and we have done that over the last few weeks.

"We just have to keep going and we are not doing a lot wrong at the minute.

"Everyone expected us to get relegated and be near the bottom, but we are one game off being in the automatic promotion places.

"There is nothing in the league at the moment.

"One game can get you a lot of places up and a lot of places down, so we have got to keep consistent and put runs of results together.

"When you do that, you stay in and around where you want to be."

looking ahead to the challenge they face tomorrow afternoon, Cooper was confident it would be a good game for the fans to watch, but unsure what version of Port Vale will show up coming off a loss.

"Every game brings a different test but when you look at their loss against Sutton, whether that affects them or not I don't know, but they won a really dramatic game against Leyton Orient in the last minute but lost one in the last-minute last Saturday.

"So, it is all set up to be a really good game and one that we want to take part in and want to win.

"For us, it is about performances, we are not looking at the table yet, we just look at the next game ahead and getting a good performance and I am confident in the players to go and do that."

Cooper went on to say that he is not looking any further than the next game as the Bluebirds need to give all their respect and focus on the next challenge ahead.

Kick-off is at 3pm tomorrow.
