BARROVIANS were among the stars who lined the red carpet for the London premiere of the latest James Bond film.

A-listers arrived at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday for the premiere of the long-awaited 'No Time to Die'.

Brushing shoulders with the likes of Daniel Craig and the Duchess of Cambridge was semi-retired BAE Systems worker Brian George and wife Sue.

The 65-year-old, who attended the premier with friends David and Helen McMunn, described the event as 'phenomenal', - especially for a James Bond fan like himself.

He said: "When I found out about the premiere, I got in touch with my friend from Scotland to see if we could get tickets.  "We were 830rd in the queue on the phone so thought it was a nice idea but gave up. Instead we bought tickets to go to the premiere in Barrow instead.

"They my friend rang and said he had one ticket - but unbeknown to me he was trying to get three more for his wife and me and my wife.

"Then he rang us to say he'd got them and we were jumping up and down - we couldn't believe it."

Mr George, whose favourite Bond portrayals are Sean Connery and Craig, described attending the event as like a 'dream come true'.

"I'm a big James Bond fan so it was like a dream come true for me," he said.

"Daniel Craig is one of my favourites so it was great to see him speak in the Albert Hall."

Despite the torrential weather, Mr George described the atmosphere as electric.

He said: "All the music from the Bond films was being played when we arrived and there was a classic Aston Martin from one of the films on the red carpet.

"It was phenomenal. It was like another world. For someone like to me to go to somewhere like that was just surreal.

"I've never been to anything as affluent before. There was celebrities and champagne everywhere.

"The whole place erupted when the stars came on stage, especially Daniel. He actually looked quite emotional on stage because this is his last Bond film."

The group was among an exclusive crowd who were able to watch the highly-anticipated Bond film hours before the general population.

"It was absolutely fantastic," Mr George said.

"This film tied all the loose ends from the past few films together and was just superb. It has everything you'd want from a James Bond film - action, stunts, glamour.

"And the crowd would erupt with applause when something happened - it was a great atmosphere."
