THE fire and rescue service were called to a road incident where a trapped person had to be released, it has been reported.

At 11.47am on August 26, one fire appliance from Grange was called to reports of trapped person on Lindale Road, Grange-Over-Sands.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: "The casualty had been extricated prior to the arrival of firefighters.

"The casualty was assessed by firefighters and passed on to the care of the North West Ambulance Service.

"Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and ten minutes."
