AMBULANCE care assistants have been praised for their quick actions and care after they came across a very serious crash.

Peter and Allan were returning back to base when they came across the accident last week and decided to stop and help.

Fortunately, there was an off duty paramedic on scene so along with them they offered immediate first aid to the casualties in the vehicle.

North West Ambulance Service patient transport service (PTS) ambulances are not equipped with essential equipment to support serious incidents like these. However, the crew made use of the limited equipment they had on board, including oxygen and the stretcher.

Jo, PTS Team Leader, said “The feedback from the PES crews about their professionalism and patient care was exemplary and I was told they were a credit to the service. I’m proud to have them both as part of my team and cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, teamwork and patient care on the day.”
