CUMBRIA Police are urging residents to get more security for their bikes after multiple incidents in recent weeks.
One of the areas hit particularly badly has been Copeland and authorities in that area are pushing for members of the public to better secure their bikes.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "Have you ever thought about getting your bike security marked?
"Copeland Police can security mark your bicycle with permanent etching, as well as register it on a secure national database for just £5 (rrp £19.99).
"For further information, or to arrange for an appointment to have your bike security marked, please contact Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.
"You may find it easier to email direct to 101@cumbria.police.uk.
"Please state where you live in Copeland so that your enquiry can be passed to the correct PCSO."
