BARROW Inner Wheel had a 'tea'mendous time at their President's lunch recently which had been put on hold due to coronavirus.
There is a long-held custom at Barrow Inner Wheel that the out-going President holds a President's Lunch to celebrate their term of office.
Past Presidents Elaine Tilston, Jackie Tansey and Kath Brown, along with current Presidents Elaine Parker and Pam Dilks, agreed that, as soon as restrictions were eased, they would host a joint celebratory Presidents' Afternoon Tea at Elaine Parker's home in Biggar Village.
Jane Smith, club secretary, said: "Delicious sandwiches, pastries, cakes and meringues, accompanied by copious cups of tea and toasted by the odd glass of Prosecco, were created by Elaine Parker and Kath Brown.
"Members, spouses and friends enjoyed a delightful afternoon, where we felt as if we had started on the road to normality at last, with lots of laughter to help us on our way.
"Member Sandra Proctor thanked Elaine and Kath for a wonderful, happy occasion."
