A WOMAN charged with perverting the course of justice has had an application to vary the conditions of her bail refused.

Eleanor Williams, of Teasdale Road, Walney, had an application to change her bail conditions refused at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

The application was refused by the Honorary Recorder of Preston Judge Robert Altham but the court official did not reveal any further details.

Ms Williams, 20, is accused of falsifying evidence and making false claims to the police between October 20 ,2017 and May 22, 2020.

The charges relate to five men, including a man from Barrow who was accused of rape and sexual assault on three separate occasions.

Another man was also accused of rape and three men were accused of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation

Ms Williams previously pleaded not guilty to eight counts of doing an act tending and intending to pervert the course of public justice.

She is due to stand trial on Valentine's Day (February 14) 2022.
