Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership has reappointed its chairman.
At its recent meeting, the Cumbria LEP board ratified the reappointment of Lord Inglewood in the role.
Lord Inglewood was originally appointed in 2018 for a three-year term and the board agreed that he should be reappointed for another three-year term of office.
On his reappointment, Lord Inglewood said: “I’m delighted that colleagues have once again shown their confidence in me.
“It is a challenging but a rewarding role and I look forward to continuing the important work that we are jointly undertaking to support Cumbria’s economic and business recovery.
“The combination of the pandemic and wider changes has meant that we are operating in an uncertain environment, which means that continuity and stability are more important than ever.”
Lord Inglewood will chair the LEP’s annual general meeting on Friday, September 24 (2pm to 4pm), which is open to members of the public, when he will talk about what the LEP has delivered over the past year.
These will include measures taken by the LEP and partner organisations to protect the local economy from the most serious effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and to maximise opportunities following the UK’s exit from the European Union.
For the second year running, the meeting will be held via video conference as a consequence of the pandemic.
