READERS have had their say after further plans to bring a major coffee and food change to Barrow were revealed.

The Canadian chain Tim Hortons have submitted full and detailed proposals to council bosses to open in place of the existing Pizza Hut restaurant in Hollywood Retail Park.

Plans have been put forward to change the use of the Pizza Hut site from restaurant to a coffee shop selling food and drink with a drive thru lane.

Readers had a mixed response to the news.

Stephen Francis Murray said: "Good, Barrow has been absolutely crying out for another high street coffee shop since the other 200 have opened.

Neil Picthall said: "A great addition for Barrow, bring it on!"

Kris Westwood said: "Personally I think a charity shop would be better... We’re in dire need for them."

Christine Johnson said: "Remind me to avoid that roundabout when it opens, already gridlocked at lunchtime."

Nick Watson said: "It will be a big loss if Pizza Hut goes. Stupid having another coffee place this town is full of coffee shops.

"We don’t need any more."

"Cant wait for it to open, I'll be there pretty much all the time!

"It is not a junk food place, it is basically a Canadian version of Costa and Starbucks, a coffee chain first and foremost."
