AFTER an Ambleside pharmacy responsible for vaccinating hundreds of people against Covid-19 was vandalised members of the community rallied to clean up the damage.

The Thomas Bells Chemist, located on Lake Road, Ambleside, was vandalised by persons unknown

Police are investigating the incident as a case of criminal damage that occurred between 5pm on 24th and 8am on 25th July.

The outside of the building was sprayed with yellow paint of anti-vaccine messages, including a large NO with an arrow pointing toward a sign for the vaccine.

Another message was 500 Dead, and Yellow Card.

Cumbria Police have released a description of an individual they wish to speak to regarding the incident who was seen in the area.

The suspect is described as a woman in her late 40’s wearing a blue skirt and red top.

It is believed she attended the area in a red coloured car.

Hours after the spray paint was reported, members of the public were seen washing the paint off the windows and walls of the pharmacy.

Those involved included some of the bar staff from the White Lion pub, located down the road from Thomas Bell Chemist.

The pharmacy owners, Ravi and Halima Voruganti, have responded to the incident and said they will not let those responsible get the better of them.

“Whoever did this will not get the better of us. The support we've got from the community. The outpouring of support has blown us away. We know a local wouldn't have done this."
