A mountain rescue team was called out after a paraglider crashed and sustained an ankle injury.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team members were at another incident at Aira Force when they were notified of the injured paraglider student at Wolf Crags on Sunday afternoon.
Five team members rushed to the scene in a Landrover and requested an air ambulance en route, due to the nature of the initial report.
The team arrived on scene around the same time as the Great North Air Ambulance and discovered that the casualty was a paragliding student under tuition, who had landed badly whilst coming down from the crag.
A Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team spokesman said: “The casualty was treated at the scene for an ankle injury. He was then transferred to the air ambulance for onward travel to hospital.
“The team would like to thank the Great North Air Ambulance for their quick joint response.”
