RESCUERS were called after a pair of walkers and their two dogs became stranded at a crag in the Lake District.
The group had been ascending the Old Man of Coniston and had left the main track.
They had become crag fast below the summit of Raven Tor.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) was notified of the incident by Cumbria Constabulary at 12.50pm on Saturday.
A CMRT spokesman said two team vehicles were deployed and parked at Levers Water.
The spokesman said: "The team split into two groups and the people were soon located below the crag on a steep grassy bank.
"They were given water, including the dogs, and, once reassured, were led safely down to the Levers Water track."
The group were then driven back to their vehicle in Walna Scar Car Park.
The rescue involved 13 CMRT members.
