A motorist has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after he was convicted of drug-driving on the A590.

Mark Nathan Harrison admitted that he drove on the road at Haverthwaite having cocaine in his system.

Traces of breakdown product benzoylecgonine were found in his blood after the incident on December 23, South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court heard.

The 60-year-old, of Caunce Street in Blackpool,was told to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.

He was also banned from driving for three years.
