Readers react after A dalton resident said he was offered £1.40 in compensation from network provider Three after complaining about its poor coverage in the town.

Brian Cohan, says he cannot currently use 3G on his phone and his internet speed has dropped from 50 Mbps to 0.25 Mbps whilst Three repairs its network in Dalton.

Brian said: "I wasn’t asking for compensation, I wasn’t upset, I just wanted to know when the service will be turned back on

"£1.40 insulted me, I was not happy – it is not even half of a cup of Costa Coffee."

The 57-year-old currently pays Three around £80-a-month, which includes his Wi-Fi and phone bills, and says he was left angered by the company when they proposed the compensation offer on the phone.

Brian, said the network problems started on July 12, and has led to his 20-year-old son, Stuart, a web designer, losing hundreds of pounds.

The Mail online readers said: "What ! £80 a month, you need to change providers quickly.

"£39 I pay that's Wi-Fi fibre broadband at 75mb and sim only mobile phone contract unlimited data unlimited calls.

"It isn't just Dalton that has problems with the 3 network.

"When I lived at Rampside the signal was garbage, now I'm in Appleby it's worse than garbage."

"I am in business too & my internet drops out regularly as usually its BT causing the issue.

"I just accept it as my Clients do when I explain the problem. So what was compensation going to do ? Not enough."

"Three forgot to say it was for 3 phone contracts and 1 wifi internet. Since Mail got involved the download speeds have increased to around 79mb download.

"Wonder why they couldn't do that before mail contacted them."
