AS ENGLAND get closer to their first major tournament final since 1966, Barrow headed out to enjoy the sunny evening atmosphere.

The Mail: Barrow Raiders have turned one end of their pitch into a beer garden, with three mobile bars and picnic tables galore.

We headed out to see what people thought about the game.

The Mail:

Tiana Hammond said: "It'll be 3-1.  Her friends Holly Robinson and Amber Thomson made similar predictions: 2-1 and 3-0.  Leah Conroy, however, argued that Gareth Southgate's boys would win 5-0. "It definitely won't be close because England is bringing it home."

In The Furness Railway before the game, landlord Rob Hope had enjoyed the pre-match atmosphere.

"Everyone's been in here and now gone to watch the game.  We get all the pre and post-match trade as we don't show the game.

"It's brilliant for trade but too difficult with the restrictions in place.  It's a tactical decision by Wetherspoons."

However, he's open until midnight so hopes he'll get people after the game.

"We had to turn people away earlier, which is always difficult."

The Mail:

Outside the pub, Tim, 22, of Marsh Street, said: "England are going to wipe the table. He predicted 3-1.

"We're out here for pre-drinks before going home to watch the game.  We've been out since 10am but couldn't get tickets anywhere for tonight."

The Mail:

We also spoke to some doubters. A table at The Railway (pictured) only had three England wins out of six predictions. Two predicted Denmark 2-1, two England 2-1 and one thought that it would be decided on penalties but wouldn't be drawn on a winner.
