PLANNING permission has been submitted to Barrow borough council to build a new house on a farm in Dalton, in order to house agricultural workers.
The application is for outline planning permission at Crossgates farm on Broughton Road in Dalton.
The new build will be a four bedroom house to be used for existing employees. The application states that the farm has four full time and six part time.
The site will be visible from a public road but says it is in keeping with the local character of area. However, the applicant is happy to enter into discussions regarding the design materials.
The new residents will be able to access the house from the main road into Crossgate Farm which is owned by the applicant. The application states that having workers on site will reduce the number of vehicle movements to and from the farm.
