A BELOVED auntie who battled drug and alcohol issues has sadly died after remaining sober for 19 months.

Tracy McAllister fought substance abuse issues throughout her life - but was clean in the year and a half leading up to her sudden death in March.

The 51-year-old, from Ormsgill, was admitted to hospital earlier this year and told by doctors that she needed a liver transplant.

Two days later she sadly died after suffering a cardiac arrest related to her alcoholism.

Her sister, Dawn McAllister, described her as 'generous to a fault'.

"She'd done so well staying off alcohol for 19 months, gone into rehab and sorted herself out," Miss McAllister said.

"She'd been through a lot in life but we were so proud of how far she'd come.

"She'd battled her demons and done so well to stay clean as long as she did.

"She'd dealt with everything a person could in life - she'd lost a brother and a mum.

"She always wanted to help other people. She was funny, generous, loving, kind.

"She loved Christmas and birthdays.

"She loved giving presents and never bought anything for herself.

"She would help any person that she could."

Miss McAllister described her sister as like a 'second mum' when the siblings were growing up.

"I lived in Manchester growing up and she used to come and visit us all the time," she said.

"She really looked after us - she cooked and cleaned.

"She was like my second mum growing up."

Miss McAllister said everyone in Ormsgill knew of her sister and her generosity.

"She was a great sister," she said.

"She would do what she could for everyone.

"Everyone in Ormsgill knew and loved her.

"When our mum died seven years ago that hit her really hard.

"I was pregnant during the time and she was there for me every step of the way through.

"She was my birthing partner and loved her nieces and nephews.

"She was the best aunt and really loved kids.

"I know she would've loved some of her own.

"Everyone loved her - she had so many friends.

"I was jealous of how popular she was, but that was because she was such a kind and generous person.

"She really would go above and beyond for anyone she knew."

Miss McAllister said her sister has 'left a huge hole' in the family's lives.

"I never thought she would leave us this young," she said.

"She did absolutely everything for us.

"She's left a huge hole in all our lives. We'll all miss her a lot."
