THE hygiene ratings of a number of fast food restaurants in Barrow have been revealed.

According to data published by the Food Standards Agency, McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Domino's and Subway in Barrow have all been given food hygiene ratings. 

McDonald's in Dalton Road has been awarded five stars in its latest inspection which took place in October 2019.

McDonald's in Hollywood Park waas also given five stars after it was inspected in May 2019.

Fast food restaurant KFC in Hollywood Park came up on top after it was inspected in September 2019, achieving five stars.

Burger King in Hindpool Retail Park, which opened in March, is awaiting an inspection.

Domino's Pizza in Walney Road and Roose Road were both inspected in July 2019 and February 2021 respectively - both given full score hygiene ratings.

Subway in Hindpool Retail Park and Dalton Road were both inspected in September 2019 and both achieved five stars.

Subway at Shell Lakeland Garage in Abbey Road, however, was handed just one star after it was inspected in February.

Inspectors said the 'management of food safety' requires 'major improvement'.
