A police officer
A MAN is due to appear before a court after he was charged with assaulting a police officer.
Stephen Kirkbride was charged with assaulting an emergency worker, namely PC Carrick.
The incident is said to have happened in Barrow on April 7.
The 55-year-old defendant, of no fixed abode, is due to face South Cumbria Magistrates' Court for a hearing tomorrow.
