A MAN is due to appear in court for allegedly assaulting an emergency worker and stealing a vehicle.
Matthew Drummond, of Chelmsford Road, Enfield, was charged in connection with a string of offences including: aggravated vehicle taking and vehicle damage, failing to provide specimen for analysis, criminal damage to a property, use of a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, two counts of common assault on an emergency worker and two counts of failing to stop.
Police were called to a report of a road traffic offence in the area of Market Street, Dalton.
Officer located the vehicle which failed to stop. The vehicle was stopped and a man was arrested and later charged.
The 32-year-old is due to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates in Barrow on May 17 2021.
