An award ceremony recognising young poets throughout Cumbria will finally be held after being delayed by lockdown.
Schoolchildren across the county were invited to showcase their talents to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of William Wordsworth last year.
However, the Rydal Mount prize for young poets was halted amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The theme of the competition was 'milestones' to mark Wordsworth's anniversary as well as 50 years since Rydal Mount, where the famous poet lived, first opened to the public.
“We will wait until after the summer holidays and then have a ceremony here where we can, at last, recognise the fantastic efforts that these youngsters have made," said Christopher Wordsworth Andrew, the great-great-great-great-grandson of Wordsworth.
The winner will receive a £50 cash prize, a personal trophy, and their name on the roll of honour on a plaque at Rydal Mount.
