Owned by Jackie Maguire, and located on Scott Street, Bumblebee at the Hive is a unique business that has been offering the public beautifully designed interior items for 18 years.

Shop manager Lisa Rae has been working for the business for 17 years and described it as a 'lifestyle', not just a business.

Lisa said: "It's an absolutely fantastic place to work.

"To us it's more than just a job here. It's a passion really.

"For me I've always worked for the public.

"We like to help people pick out what items they’re after for their home.

"It's more like a life style than just an ordinary business in my opinion.

"We've been open for the past 18 years and it's been an incredible work place for all of us here. I started in 2003.

"There is me, Jackie, Emma and Tracy.

"We make it as welcoming an experience as we can. Sometimes people come in as strangers but leave as friends.

"We sell different types of gifts. We sell jewellery, bath products and a lot of interior lighting.

"It's all there to make the home look nicer and people have a real hunger for these kinds of items.

"Lockdown was a bit of a test for us because we had to close down when it first happened last year.

"When we shut it was very frightening at first because we didn't know what was going to happen.

"We adapted very quickly. We began selling online and learning new ways to trade.

"There was a lot of work being done behind the scenes. We set up a website where we could set up on the door deliveries, we got a Facebook and an Instagram going as well to reach more people.

"We reopened on Monday and it's been such a good feeling having people back in the streets.

"We will continue with the website because some people will still be isolating for the time being, so we want to still cater to them.

"The feedback we got was very positive which was nice. We really owe a lot to our customers. They have been very supportive and understanding about things which is fantastic.

"We have a really solid customer base and that has really helped us with things. There are some amazing people in this area. We want to say thank you to all of our customers for all the support they have given us. Can't wait to see you all soon."
