PLANS to demolish an existing building and replacing it with a newer larger one have been refused by the Lake District National Park Authority.
Applicant Gary Mayo planned to make create a larger dwelling on North Field in Newby Bridge including a new boathouse with a dayroom above that would be provided.
Staveley in Cartmel Parish Council objected in 'the strongest terms' referencing the need for affordable housing.
The application was refused by LDNPA as t was 'out of keeping with the character of the undeveloped lakeshore'.
