A TEMPORARY road closure is to be put in place to allow Cumbria Highways to carry out footway improvement works.
The work on Huddleston Road, Millom, is expected to start on April 6 and is anticipated to take five weeks to complete.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Fairfield Road, Salthouse Road, Holborn Hill and Festival Road.
The works will be carried out in phases so not all of Huddleston Road will be closed at any one time.
The existing one-way restriction on the entire length of Fairfield Road will be temporarily suspended for the duration of the works to enable access and egress to and from Fairfield Road by allowing two-way traffic flow.
