RESIDENTS in Copeland who are suffering from loneliness and isolation during the Covid-19 are set to receive a health and wellbeing hamper.

The project funded by Cumbria County Council, Copeland Community Fun and Copeland Borough Council will see two hundred Copeland residents of all ages benefit from two hampers each, alongside a befriending service and access to data enabled tablets.

The health and wellbeing hampers will be given to residents who live on their own and are struggling to socialise.

Copeland Age and Advice Service C.I.C said: "The hamper will include a £50 voucher to help with utility bills, a therapeutic CD, and information relating to support services in their area.

"Residents will also receive a craft hamper filled with a mindfulness journal, sewing kits, crosswords and other items to keep them entertained.

"Digital devices will be made available for residents’ use, as a way to contact the befriending service and interact with others online. People can also call the befriending service if they do not wish to use a digital device."
