Volunteers who support patients, staff and visitors in North Cumbria Integrated Care during the pandemic were entered into a special prize draw, with two volunteers receiving prizes.

Winners, Gordon Dodds and Anne Marie Hyde received two books - published during lockdown - donated by Bookends in Carlisle and Keswick.

Gordon Dodds, a retired crane commissioning engineer, has been a volunteer in Larch A/B ward for four years and now volunteers in A&E at the Cumberland Infirmary.

Anne Marie Hyde has been a Meet and Greet volunteer at the West Cumberland Hospital for five years. She said: “I saw the role advertised and decided to apply. Over the years I have made some good friends in the other volunteers. We are like a big happy family.” “I enjoy making people smile and helping them by putting their minds at ease”.
