A LAKES caravan park is set to expand with the addition of the safari style tents.
Skelwith Fold Caravan Park near Ambleside, has been granted planning permission to build two more static safari style rigid tents by the Lake District National Parks Authority (LDNPA).
Aimed at the glamping market, the company described them in their application to LDNPA as cedar cladding, dark grey flashings safari tents with beige canvas.
Following their building the company will house five tents in this style.
The LDNPA committee had to consider the surrounding site, being designated as ancient and semi-natural woodland.
The three existing safari tents, for which retrospective permission was sought, are sited at the western end of the site, close to the hamlet of Skelwith Fold.
A representative from Skelwith Fold Caravan Park was invited to comment on the successful application, but declined.
