SNOW has caused disruption in Furness.
A number of schools have shut today due to adverse weather.
Snow fell over night in the area and is expected to give way to sleet.
Walney School, Chetwynde School in Barrow, Dowdales School in Dalton and Ulverston Victoria High School are among those that have announced closures today.
Meanwhile, traffic is a standstill on a section of the A590 after an accident.
The road is closed eastbound at Newby Bridge.
According to police, it follows an accident nearby on the A5902 between Newby Bridge roundabout and Meathop Road.
The incident was reported around 7am.
Temperatures are expected to reach as low as three degrees today.
