A COASTGUARD team was dispatched to a beach after reports of possible ordnance.
Millom Coastguard Rescue Team responded to its second call out in two days for possible ordnance.
The team was redeployed to the beach at Silecroft after reports of an item of possible ordnance.
The team attended the beach with Cumbria Police.
The item was quickly identified as an oil filter.
A spokesman for Millom Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The first informant did exactly the right thing by calling it in. It could have been something else."
