Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were called last Tuesday to save two walkers on Scafell Pike.

At 14.59, as Storm Christoph hit Cumbria and the North West, the rescue team were notified about the incident by police.

The two walkers had found themselves lost in the snow, and were thought to be near the summit of Scafell Pike.

In response to this, three members of the rescue team were then involved in retrieving the two.

The members reported that they had sent messages to the walkers’ phones, but it was not possible to reach them until sometime later.

Fortunately, the stranded walkers found a path and started to make their way down.

After getting back to their car, the two walkers then contacted the team to ensure their safety.

The incident lasted 2 hours and 49 minutes, with no team members being deployed.

This is the fifth incident in 2021 for Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team.
