FIVE more Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded over the weekend at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, according to statistics from NHS England.
According to the dataset published yesterday, there were two more recorded Covid deaths at UHMBT on January 16, and three on January 17.
This total is updated daily by NHS England and contains information on the deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England and either tested positive for Covid-19 or where no positive test result was received for Covid-19, but Covid-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.
And over the past 24 hours Barrow has seen an increase of 33 new positive coronavirus cases. 
This has followed on from a seven-day period that has seen an additional 358 people testing positive overall in the area.
Currently, there are a total of 3,205 reported to have fallen ill with Covid in Barrow since the pandemic began. 
The current rate of infection per 100,000 of population has reached 533.9.
From today the UK has closed all travel corridors, which until now allowed arrivals from some countries not to undergo quarantine.
From today anyone arriving in the country must isolate for up to 10 days, although the quarantine period can be cut short with a negative test after five days.
People will also have to show proof of a negative test taken in the previous 72 hours before travelling.
The UK has now seen over three million people vaccinated.
