COURT: South Cumbria Magistrates' Court
AN AMBLESIDE man accused of assault is due to stand trial later this month after South Cumbria Magistrates' Court elected for his case to be heard by a jury at Crown Court.
Howard Butler, 61, of Castlefield has been charged with assaulting Andrea Williams in Ambleside on October 10, allegedly causing actual bodily harm.
The case was sent for trial at Carlisle Crown Court on January 29 and Butler was granted conditional bail.
He was ordered not to contact Andrea Williams by any means whatsoever until the trial date to prevent interference with witnesses or obstruct the course of justice.
