CHEF Kevin Tickle has launched a click-and-collect menu that everyone can enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.

Anyone who has worked or who works in hospitality will be familiar with the phrase ‘Staff tea’.

It’s that time of day where everyone gathers round the meal table and tucks in together as one big family to enjoy a wholesome meal together, chatting, laughing and, above all, sharing with each other before a busy service.

‘Staff tea’ is all about the need for something delicious and comforting, something to boost your energy and keep you going, especially on long dark winter’s nights.

This is the food that chefs like to cook, and their teams really love to eat. Mr Tickle has therefore chosen to draw back the curtain and let everyone sample the food that he and his colleagues can’t get enough of.

Mr Tickle's new venture - Heft at High Newton - is currently undergoing a major refurbishment.

While that’s happening, he has decided to get busy creating a range of click and collect menus for people to enjoy - simple, honest comfort food designed to help people start their weekends right.

Dishes include:

• Smokey chicken and ham hock crumble: a simple smoked chicken and ham hock slow cooked with leeks, in a rich stock and topped with a crunchy, herby crumble.

• Cheddar and leek gratin. Braised leeks smothered in a creamy Hafod cheddar sauce and topped with a crunchy, herby crumble.

Both dishes are accompanied by honey and thyme roasted root vegetables, Carroll’s Heritage roasted potatoes and braised sauerkraut.

Alongside that, Mr Tickle has teamed up with Bakery No4 to provide a selection of tempting classic British sweets treats and puds to sit alongside his crowd pleasers, which this week will include plum crumble shortbread and flourless chocolate cake.

‘Staff Tea’ is a weekly changing menu, available to order as a click and collect meal from either Heft in High Newton or from Bakery at No4 in Kendal.

Orders must be placed by Tuesday at 10pm for collection that Friday.

• Collection at Bakery No4 in Kendal is between 10am - 2pm

• Collection from Heft in High Newtown is between 1pm - 4pm
