BT has responded after workers in Barrow joined colleagues in a day of action to protest changes by the company.
Workers protested against supposed impending redundancies across the country.
The Communications Worker’s Union (CWU), which represents BT workers, has announced that it will be calling a national consultative ballot to ask members if they would support a future ballot on industrial action.
A BT spokesperson said: “We have not announced any redundancies at our Barrow-in-Furness contact centre.
“BT is going through a period of immense change and modernisation to prepare it for a changing market and to meet the needs of our customers.
“Throughout Covid, our focus has been on supporting our colleagues and customers.”
