A MAN has been given a suspended sentence for possessing a knife in a public place.
Jamie Lipscombe, 44, admitted that he had a kitchen knife on Rawlinson Street in Barrow, where he lives, on May 14.
He also pleaded guilty to possession of valium.
South Cumbria Magistrates' Court handed him 16 weeks in prison suspended for a year and a 6pm to 7am curfew for the next 12 weeks.
