A TALENTED Barrow star who left town to pursue her dreams as a young teenager a decade ago, is aiming to take the UK Top 40 by storm.

Wallis moved to London when she became a full time student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School at just 13 years old, before then attending The Brit School, which boasts alumni such as Adele and Amy Winehouse.

Her debut song 'Never Gonna Be' was chosen as Tom Salmon's BBC introducing track of the week, and was played on BBC Radio One as part of Hew Stephens BBC Music Introducing show.

Her latest song, which was released last weekend 'Attitude', takes a more upbeat vibe to her previous ballad.

Attitude features Tottenham based rapper Dun D, and has already received great praise from fans.

The song is about being unafraid to exude attitude and sass and is a showcase for Wallis' strong northern personality. It is also a call for a respectful attitude from those around her.

Speaking to The Mail, Wallis said: "It's been wicked.

"Attitude is a lot more of a dance tune than my first track, Never gonna be, which was a bit more of a ballad.

"I have a soprano voice naturally. I want to show that I am versatile.

"The song was released on Friday, and then the music video was debuted on Sunday. It's had a lot of streams already and got added to a really big playlist on Spotify."

The playlist - dedicated to strong, confident women - is filled with artists such The Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, and Beyonce, leaving Wallis' track to play amongst some of the worlds greatest female icons.

The playlist has been 'liked' over 74,000 times by members of Spotify, a music streaming giant.

Talking about her hometown, Wallis said: "I love Barrow - it is my hometown.

"I still sound like a Barrovian and I moved a decade ago.

"It's just so different to London. I love the calm."

Wallis says that she 'hasn't ruled out' the possibility of a Barrow performance.

Talking about the future, she said: "I'm aiming for the UK Top 40 charts. There is no stopping me now.

"I want to headline the Glastonbury Introducing stage
