FIGURES from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show 59 people died in the North East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire in the week ending June 19.
The statistics are the most recent and up-to-date numbers for the grouped-together areas.
The figures are for deaths in all settings, as the number of deaths in care homes in the regions continues to fall.
No new Cumbrian fatalities were recorded at the county's NHS trusts for two consecutive days during the time period covered by the ONS numbers.
The total number of deaths from Covid in the North East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire this year now stands at 4,667, according to the ONS figures.
This makes up just over 16% of all deaths in these areas since the start of the year.
