An aircraft worker from Barrow was found hanging by his partner, an inquest heard.
At a brief hearing in Ruthin, Denbighshire, John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, said police had been alerted by the ambulance service after Paul Richard Atkinson was found at a house in The Close, Hawarden, north Wales, on June 16.
Mr Atkinson, 49, of Abbey Road, Barrow, was an inspection officer and team leader with BAE Systems, which has a factory in nearby Broughton.
Consultant pathologist Dr Mared Owen-Casey gave the provisional cause of death as hanging but the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed for further tests to be carried out.
