A TWO Tin Challenge for the food bank is being held today.
People in Barrow, Walney and Askam are asked to donate two tins of food each to be picked up by members of Extinction Rebellion Furness.
It follows a "phenomenal" Two Tin Challenge in Ulverston last week, when tins were collected from more than 200 homes.
This time people are asked to drop tins off at collection points as it was impossible to collect from every home.
A spokeswoman for XR Furness said: "Check your cupboards - is there anything you could spare?"
She said the food bank had told XR Furness the things most needed were tins of spaghetti, ravioli, macaroni, packets of pasta in sauce, jars of sauce for pasta, jars of curry sauce or sauce for stir fries, tins of custard, tins of rice pudding, instant mash and long-life milk.
Also needed are shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes and toiletries such as deodorant, shower gel and soap, as well as baby products.
They have lots - at the moment - of tins of beans, tuna and soup and packets of dried pasta, but all donations are welcome.
Donations can be left until 3pm today at the drop-off points:
People isolating or unable to get to a collection point are asked to email xrfurness@gmail.com by noon today (Monday April 13) for a doorstep pick-up.
All rules on social distancing apply when dropping off donations on foot or bike and people are asked to wash their hands and the donations.
Labelled boxes will be on the pavement outside drop-off points at:
