WINDERMERE Town Council (WTC) has been given an award to recognise its professionalism among town and parish councils nationwide.
The council has been awarded the Foundation Level of the Local Council Award Scheme.
Councillor Sue Castle-Clarke, chairman of Cumbria Association of Local Councils’, presented the certificate to Councillor John Saunders, mayor of Windermere Town Council and Julie Hartley, clerk, this month.
Ms Hartley said: “The town council is delighted to be presented with this Foundation Level Award. It is the culmination of some hard work, but the process has been very worthwhile and has led to us improving many of our processes and procedures, all for the better. We would strongly recommend it to other local councils.” For more information on the LCAS scheme, please contact office@calc.org.uk.
