IT has been a week of success at Barrow parkrun with 73 runners from across Barrow, Ulverston, Millom and Fell Foot.

Taking first place for the men in Barrow was Andrew Dorrian in 16.44, in second place was Cameron Bell in 19.11, and in third place was Sean Roberts in 19.22.

Taking first place for the women was Tyga Steele in a new personal best of 20.11, she was followed by Karen Ann Maggio-Poyntz in 21.39, and in third place was Amy Singleton in 21.59.

The first to cross the finish line from the men in Ulverston was Gary William Dover in a new personal best of 19.47, taking the second place spot was Ronnie Haddow in 20.26 and in third place was Leven Sopwith in 20.40.

The first to cross the finish line for the ladies was Allie Metcalfe in a new personal best of 21.58, following behind her was Joanna Bailey in 24.49 who was followed exceedingly close by Ellie Simmonds who also finished in 24.49.

Racing into first place for the men at Fell Foot was Justin Corbishley in 19.04, following in second place was San Starkey in 19.20 and taking the third place position was Charles Hazlerigg in 19.43.

Racing into first place for the women at Fell Foot was Rebekah Beadle in 23.28, in second place was Amy Pearman in a new personal best of 23.54 and in third place was Tara Allan in 24.45.

Taking first place for the Men at Millom was John Rodgers in 24.12, in second place was Daniel King in 24.24 and in third place was Simon Chapman in 24.27.

Taking first place for the women at Millom was Bethany Knowles in 30.27, following behind her was Rachael Read in 32.22 and in third place was Helen Chapman in 39.09.

Millom parkrun is looking forward to next week as they nudge closer to a total distance of 26,000 kilometres covered since their first parkrun

All of the parkrun organisers thanked the weekly volunteers who make the Saturday morning events possible.

People of all fitness levels and ages are invited to walk, jog and run across the free 5k course.

Children in prams and four-legged friends on leads are also invited to join in with the parkrun fun.
