FUN: Annual duck race in Grasmere
CROWDS of people came together to watch the annual duck race which raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Grasmere's annual duck race saw visitors and the local community come together for a great cause.
The event, which was hosted at The Wordsworth Hotel & Spa, sees duck racers releasing 200 yellow rubber ducks downstream on the River Rothay at Grasmere.
This year the events raised £598 for St John’s Hospice.
Mark Wenlock St.John’s Hospice Community Fundraiser says, ‘It’s community events like this that not only bring people together for a bit of fun, but raise money to fund the essential work we do providing care for people with life shortening conditions and their families."
