A DRINK driver was given a lengthy ban after being found to be over the limit.
Nathan John Darby, 23, appeared before the bench at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court after being charged for driving with excess alcohol.
The defendant, of Bank Head in Haverigg, was said to have been driving through the village on January 1 while he was over the limit.
Magistrates heard the defendant was nearly twice the legal limit.
Police recorded a reading of 60 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath, above the limit of 35.
Darby was banned from the road for a total of 36 months and fined £120.
