SCHOOLS, community groups and individuals are being given the chance to travel by train for free when they enter a creative arts competition this January and February.
Young women and girls under 25 who enter the award-winning competition can claim a day trip to and from any location on the Northern network.
The aim of the competition is to inspire the next generation of young women and girls to consider a career in traditionally male dominated industries
Entrants need to create a piece of writing, photography, artwork or video reflecting their views on railway use or employment.
Entries need to be submitted by email to info@downtheline.org.uk with the email title “Women in STEM Competition Entry” by February 14.
‘Women in STEM’ is this year’s theme - encouraging women and girls to consider a career in science, technology, engineering, maths and the rail industry.
A panel of women from the Commnunity Rail partnership will act as judges for the competition.
