FORGET the stress of getting rid of your Christmas tree - and help a charity.
Over the last five years, £13,350 has been raised through St Mary’s Hospice Christmas Tree Collection scheme and this year they have extended the number of postcodes they will collect from.
On January 5 and 6 volunteers will be heading out in force again to collect Christmas trees from the following 11 postcodes LA11, LA12, LA13, LA14, LA15, LA16, LA17, LA18, LA19, LA20, LA21.
Readers can register on the Just Helping website https://charityxmastreecollection.com/find-a-collection/st-marys-hospice-ulverston/. Registrations close on Friday January 3 at 10:30am.
A £10 donation could pay for a patient's home-cooked meal; £15 provides a patient with mouth-care products to ease pain and discomfort; £20 covers a bereavement support session following the loss of a loved one; £25 is the cost of 1 hour of patient care on our In-Patient Unit.
