Barrow Masonic Hall was the setting for the Christmas dinner for members of the Furness Freemasons Fellowship.
Chairman David Smith said: “The Fellowship is a monthly get together for retired masons, their wives and the widows of masons. One of the highlights of the year is the December meeting when we sit down to a traditional Christmas dinner and then enjoy a sing-along to favourite carols.” This year further entertainment was provided by guitarist Terry Ridal.
The 70 diners included the head of Freemasons in West Lancashire Tony Harrison and his wife Maureen along with senior Furness masonic officer Peter Schofield and his wife Michelle. Volunteers from the local masonic lodges gave up a couple of hours of their time to serve a glass of sherry upon arrival, wait the tables and assist with the washing up.
