A SOLAR panel canopy is set to be constructed at the Brockhole Visitor Centre in Windermere.
The canopy will cover six parking spaces each of which will be fitted with an electric vehicle charging point, with the solar canopy providing the power for the charging points.
Planners at the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) approved the proposal for the facility which will run along one side of the centre's car park.
The project was recommended for approval after officials said it would have a neutral effect visually and was in line with the LDNPA's environment commitment.
