THE turnout was up for this week's parkrun as hundreds of runners turned up to take on the course in Barrow, Ulverston, Millom and Newby Bridge.

For Barrow parkrun, both the temperature and turnout was up again this week, with not a bit of frost in sight as 124 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of which five were first timers and 15 recorded new personal bests.

Representatives of seven different clubs took part, including Parkside Panther Jeff Crosthwaite, completing his 250th parkrun.

Completing the course first this week was Cameron Bell in 18.58, followed by Joe Turner in 19.14 and Sean Roberts in 19.16.

Sophie Leadbetter was the first woman home in 22.25, setting a new personal best for herself.

She was followed by Liz McNally in 22.34 and Sandra Garnett in 22.57.

Millom’s 155th parkrun had the celebration of Kyle Footman running his 50th parkrun event.

Many of the regulars were away, saving themselves for the Langdale Christmas Pudding 10k the next day, so this gave opportunity for a new winner to emerge.

Kyle Footman led the way in first place, finishing in 25.57, followed by Jonathan Bailey in 26.30 and Tim Miles in 28.19.

Linda Jones landed the top spot for the women, completing the course in 33.23.

She was followed by Lesley Skelton in 35.47 and Sarah Lupton in 41.11.

Ulverston parkrunners also turned up in full force to take on the five kilometre course.

Landing the top spot this week was Matthew Elkington in 17.11, closely followed by Lewis Watts in 19.39 and James Bailey in 20.12.

Janet Heffernan was the first woman home in a time of 23.06, closely followed by Heather Travis in 23.31 and Holly Heffernan in 24.19.

Newby Bridge's Fell Foot parkrun saw 125 participants run, jog and walk the course this week.

Jack Wright crossed the white line first this week, finishing the course in 17.44.

Andy Hind was the second man home in a time of 19.18, followed by Thomas David Longden in 19.47.
