A BARROW man who was more than three times over the drink drive limit was given a £120 fine and banned from driving for 20 months.
Dean Richard Fawcett, of Cross Street, was found driving a Ford Fiesta on Ramsden Street on the morning of Tuesday, November 19 with 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, with the drink-drive limit being 22.
In mitigation, solicitor Trystan Roberts said: “It was one of those unfortunate incidents of the morning after the night before.”
The 39-year-old defendant , who last trouble the courts in 2008, was given a £120 fine and banned from driving for 20 months. However, he has been offered a place on a drink driving course which will, if completed, lead to a significant reduction of the disqualification period. He will have to fund the course himself.
